There is no doubt that the current vibe in renovations is updating bathrooms. Gone are the days of tub inserts and cloth shower curtains. These days it is all being kept very simple with clean lines, lots of stone and elegant grey, taupe and spa blue paint colors.

We love the look of this shower stall and the use of different tile shapes within the same color pallet to create an interesting space that never gets dated or grows old. This is just one example of how you can keep spaces interesting while still using clean lines and neutral colors.

We've been so busy and having so much fun updating so many bathrooms to match what people envision for such a personal space. The choice of materials available can be overwhelming for a lot of people. But finding the balance between personal design preferences and elements that are not going to grow old for you are key.

A textured off white sub way tile has a lot to add to a space. It is also super easy to keep clean and can be done with minimal grout lines, or a thicker one as seen here.

Regardless of what you envision for your space, a professional can help you to find a balance between what the options are for your space from a logistical point of view ( i.e. space available, plumbing, electrical, code), your budget and your list of dream components.

We are excited to see what the new Season has in store as far as trending in bathrooms. It could be anything; perhaps glass tile and dark grout lines are going to make a comeback. But regardless of the trends and magazine articles, you can never going wrong by keeping it classic, such as quarts walls or subway tiles.

Happy renovations,

Victoria and Susan
