Happy New Year!! I hope the holidays provided exactly what you needed to welcome the new year. Peter Street Cabinetry and Renovations is fully back in action, starting new projects, finishing older ones, and overall, beginning the year with motivation and excitement for the projects we will start and complete in 2026.

Although the dominant kitchen trends will probably continue to be all-white cabinetry or white or grey kitchens with dark islands, a new trend for 2026 has emerged, and it's becoming surprisingly popular.

Textured and reeded teak and white oak kitchens, have made a notable comeback. Although this style was popular in the 70s, the inclusion of modern design elements ensures it doesn't resemble your grandmother's kitchen. Reeded wood doors paired with a bright quartz countertop revitalize a concept often considered outdated. This combination creates a warm, modern appearance on a classic design that many find appealing and to have longevity.

This is just a preview of what’s coming in 2026, as we get ramped up for new projects. It is an exciting time to work with upcoming trends and to take a concepts that we have seen before and make them work from a design point of view to fit the client’s vision for their home.
